Acrylic on wood (river gum)

A coolamon is a curved vessel traditionally used by Aboriginal women to carry tucker (food) or to cradle babies. This river gum wood was hand carved and painted with flowering gum symbols, then a layer of linseed oil was applied before a clear coat.

Due to the delicate and bulky nature, I am unable ship artworks on stretched canvas or wood. This will need to be picked up from my studio in Hamilton NSW 2303. Complete address will be provided after checkout and I will be in touch to arrange a suitable time for collection.
